With two weeks to go before Christmas, Santa decided to drop off P90X2 on the same day we were baking cookies. Coincidence? I think not. I spent the day going over the program and all the new changes and workouts. I have to say that I am pretty excited to get started.
Team Beachbody has reduced the number of workout days from 6 to 5 per week to allow additional time for recovery. I especially like this change. Also, notable are the many disclaimers and warnings sprinkled throughout the DVD’s and written materials. They really go out of their way to ensure that we understand that we alone are responsible for whatever havoc we bring to our bodies.
Notably missing from the Fitness Guide is a breakdown of the individual workout sessions. The materials are streamlined and easy to read. The graphics and video quality are improved from P90X as expected. A quick perusal through the first two workouts reveals some pretty unique names to the exercises. After watching I realized that a written description of the exercises would be quite difficult, you just have to see some of these moves to know how to execute them.
Fitness test, here I come…
